You can't restore the System drive whilst you are in Windows. Also, it looks like you are trying to restore the disk that the image is stored on, which is obviously not going to work. The reboot option should work, and willl restore the System Disk during the reboot. But I don't think there is any way that you can restore the E: drive as that is where the restore image is stored - deselect it before doing the restore.

Alternatively, most imaging programs let you create a bootable CD or floppy that you can use to perform restores. If none of these work in your case then I'd suggest that the software you are using is not up to the job. Try one of the other imaging programs (Paragon is my favourite, but many swear by Norton Ghost).

do u guys have any norton ghost tutorials? and one more question with this norton ghost will i be able to save my system image into an external hard drive? or burn it into a DVD

Can you post the steps you are taking to restore the image? It does look like you are going from drive E to C which should work, as long as you are not in Windows when you try to run this. You need to boot to an external media that will allow you to run your imaging software. The software somewhere will probably have an option to create a bootable drive of some sort.

I have also seen the disk lock error happen if Windows was not properly shut down and the "dirty bit" was set. Make sure you shutdown/reboot the PC using the Shutdown command and don't just power it off.
