Locked out of laptop after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi, I hope someone can point me in the right direction with my problem. Here's the story:
I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on my Toshiba laptop. I followed Tom's instructions on giving the new OS a windows 7 look very successfully. Then I got carried away and made a change to the registry so that my login details were hidden. I restarted and was faced with an 'other user' login screen requesting a username and password. There is no other username and password and although I tried my microsoft login details, this doesn't work.

I am now effectively locked out from my own laptop due to my rash modification.

I'd appreciate if anyone knows the way forward with this problem.

Why do people like to play with fire without a full heat suit? Face it, you screwed up because you did stuff you had no clue about.
Your ONLY option at this point is to reinstall Windows, using the instructions at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

As long as you don't get burned twice you're not a fool 😉

Next time, make a disk image before trying anything, and preferably use a virtual machine with a proper checkpoint
