Greetings. On my previous thread I was looking for alternative ways to unlock my PC. I was recommended to download Maze Lock. I put in some weird numbers and I have no idea what happened. It then locked me into the maze lock screen. I have no idea what the password is and I'm locked out of my computer. This is written on my phone. Any replies would be greatly appreciated ASAP.

Solution
at this point i would try to find a rescue disk or find a way to get into safe mode and do a system restore. that is unless its a password problem then its definitely going to end up being a clean install

No. I don't know what sleep does so I set it to never go to sleep and never turn off monitor.

Wow, that is not good. You should spend some time with your PC and set it up correctly.

Man, I just tried putting my pc to sleep. It turned off all my components and my monitor. Then I clicked my mouse and everything came back. I'm so amazed at how far technology has come, i mean we got the telephone and we got the light bulb. Now we putting computers to sleep. These are the days of the future.

sorryboi, I am glad that you are trying different settings on your PC and I hope that you have your lock issues worked out. Computers might seem kind of complex and intimidating, but if you don't have your PC set up in a safe and secure way you can damage certain components and also put your personal data in jeopardy of being hijacked.

It would benefit you to spend a little bit of time with the settings of your PC to ensure that they are set up in such a way to protect you, your family and your equipment. If you need any specific help with any features or settings, start a new thread and one of the folks here can assist you. Good luck with all of your computer endeavors.

I don't think this is the most safe and secure setup, is it?

the most secure way is to have one account setup as admin and one account as a standard user and always use the standard account for everything. this way when anyone tries to install something or tries to change a setting they would have to enter the admin password to do anything

The problem is I'm always doing that kind of work.

then just put a password on your windows 10 admin account and just lock the computer whenever you're away from it. simple as that. if anyone else uses the computer create another account and if the workstation is locked when they try to use it they can just switch to another user account without logging out your own account

Nobody hasn't really touched anything on my computer. I don't want anyone accessing any files or programs whats so ever. I already had a Win10 Password on my admin acc.

Millions of people do it. I have been doing it since the 1990s and there is no risk that I know of. You do need a good firewall in place, but I think that Windows Defender has that covered.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security which disables Windows defender. Is that fine?

Yes, Kaspersky does have a nice firewall. I think that you will be fine as long as your computer is physically in a place that you can monitor it. I just have the regular Windows 10 lock screen on mine, and I am never worried about anybody gaining access to my system or files. Everybody's situation is different, so you really must consider the security of your own situation.
