locked Vista account

My father just passed away. He has three computers, one is an E-machine with Windows Vista. It has two accounts, on that is the admin with the chess piece, this is open, one account with his first name, this is password protected. I and the executor of his estate and am trying to find his accounts, life insurance, stocks and hidden bank accounts. how do I get into this account, or change the password to unlock it? Thanks for any help you can give here.
