external program.

I take it you mean journal There is a mod called Journal Enhanced that
allows you to do this but you must also use the mod Morrowind Enhanced 1.2.
The same applies to Writing Enhanced, which allows you to write your own
scrolls and books using a quill and inkwell.

Should have said...all are available on Morrowind Summit.
