Logging out

I usually log out in an inn with the door closed. Most time I can log right
back on with another character but sometimes I get a message saying that
another character is logged on. Then I have to wait 5 minutes before I can
log on.

Why does this only happen occasionally? Is there something I could do to
make sure that I will be able to log right back on with another character.

Logging out in Inns is a bit buggy. It can depend on where in the room
you stand, but I forget the details. If you are "friended" to a player's
house, then you will "insta log" if you log out inside their house. It's
not as buggy that way. If you have engaged in combat, then there is a 2
minute (?) timer that won't let you insta log in either place.

Thanks, maybe it is where I am standing in the room. I will stand in the
middle in the future.

The Moonglow Inn on the north side, fer example, won't let you
instalog anywhere but in the main room. There used to be a spot just
north of the Papua Inn where you could not only instalog but your
character would stay in-game when you logged in with another
character. I don't know if it's still there or not.

You didn't like playing an archer? I was thinking of changing Ulric my
old Archer/Mage into an Archer/Paladin. Not sure I want to let go of my
magery though.

*marks rune to the Shattered Skull Tavern. Toggles the circ of

I play two different types of pali archers and both a very successful, i'm
very happy
with them. since I first started playing five years ago, my main character
has always been
an archer and the one I usually always play.

the differences in the two are as such

archer #1 (main) archer #2 (secondary)

archery 110 archery 94.2 and rising
anat 100 anat 95.5 and rising
tactics 100 tactics 100
focus 100 focus 100
chiv 100 chiv 76.4 and rising
heal 100 music 100
resist 100 peace 110

both can handle just about anything out there.
each one has his own pros and cons but I enjoy them both.

its because you were fighting before you logged out.
the game wont let you insta log if you were fighting. it keeps people from
picking fights then running into a house they own and logging out.
you have to wait a few minutes to log out if you were just fighting, even if
its in a inn or a house.

What I'd really like is an indestructible bow that requires no ammo.
Maybe it just fires magic arrows or something. There's no artifact bow
like that is there? Hmmmm...
