I was hoping that they'd release an app for PS3 / Xbox, but at least this way I could use my TV to skype with, without purchasing a new TV with a camera and skype built-in.

Now, I don't own a PS3 or an XBox so I don't know how Skype would work with those, but with modern TVs: 2 HDMI ports = Game + Skype via Picture-in-Picture (PIP).

This would be a lot nicer if it supported open protocols like SIP so that you could use it with the service of your choice.
