Logitech G35 with surround sound not working in game

I bought the logitech G35 today and I tested everything including the 7.1 surround sound, and it worked perfectly. But I noticed in game that there was no surround sound so I'd have to guess where everything was. I was still able to hear things but it wasn't clear which direction it was in. All I really have is the software to change the setting on the headset, but I'm not sure if I need to update anything so that the 7.1 works.

you might need to change a setting in-game as well

You have to make sure the game is set to utillize 7.1/surround sound in the game settings, most games dont have 7.1 or even 5.1 encoded into them so its just not possible unless the headphones have some kind of virtual surround mode you can turn on.
