Bought a G500 and it arrived a few days ago, I plugged it into the computer and there was light from the sensitivity adjustment panels but the pointer does not move nor can I click anything; however the computer still recognized the device manager in the control panel as a G500 mouse, but when I go on the specific section for mice, it does not show up in the hardware tab. Does this mean I received a broken mouse?

Thanks

did you try plugging the mouse in while the computer was on? if so, restart the computer and see if it works. if not, try a different usb port (or a ps/2 port if you have an adapter)

sometimes mice and keyboards just "don't work" when you plug them in after the computer is booted. i wouldnt jump to conclusions and say your mouse is busted until you try a few things to see what the problem is.

we aren't out of options yet...

is this the only mouse connected to the computer? if not, disconnect the other mouse and restart the computer. still nothing?

mice are typically plug and play and should work. however, try loading setpoint (the software included) and see if after a restart it works

make sure you are using the mouse on either a mousepad or a non-reflective solid surface. mice dont play nice with glass and track poor on reflective surfaces.

if you still have problems then yes, your mouse could very well be bad. i've never seen it happen myself but all it takes is a missed connection here... or a bad wire there..

if you decide on a replacement you could try for another g500 or try something else out like a razer.

if your next mouse has the same issues.. perhaps you have a problem with your usb ports.

yeah... did all of them as well and i phoned logitech and they say it's a defunct mouse so imma gonna RMA it... Ty for your help though
