I've made a thread about a headset somewhat recently:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3324580/headset.html

But my dad came home today and bought me the Logitech G633's
I've got to say the sound quality is a pretty big upgrade from my old G35's

Until i jumped into Discord to talk to my friends, the microphone quality compared to the G35 apparently is a massive drop.
Crackling and sounding like i'm talking through a tin can bad apparently.
And whitenoise/buzzing building up louder the longer i talk.

I've got a somewhat old onboard (Acer ipisb-vr rev 1.01) soundcard (Realtek ALC662) but i'm assuming that if it was the soundcard's fault the sound quality would also be shitty but it isn't.

Is this a defective unit or does it have to do anything with my soundcard or is the mic in general pretty shitty?

Im tempted to bring em back and throw down couple extra bucks to get the Sennheiser Game One's (If they'll even work properly on this crappy onboard soundcard), i would get headphones and a standalone mic but i simply dont have space for it.

Thank u in advance.

Solution
Seems very unlikely, i use them for at least a few hours every day.

Here is vid i recorded of a silly play in warthunder with a friend.

The louder voice is obviously me. Im not sure if your previous headphones worked better, but if they did then it might just be a defective unit.

I've recorded some to, just me counting up to 20 and you can hear the "White noise/Buzzing" building up already at 2 seconds any idea what can be causing this?
Again, i didn't have this problem with my USB G35's.

If the variables are the exact same (Where you plug it in, Settings, etc) and it is still making that noise then it could be a faulty unit. That is very weird.

Im hoping its a faulty unit, i tried it on my laptop and the same noise is being recorded.
Just contacted the store and im returning it tomorrow for a replacement one.

And if that doesn't fixes it i guess i've gotta start searching for another headset which sucks because the sound in the headset itself is great =/

Yeah ive definitely noticed some questionable things about this headset. I thought the voice would a lot better than it is. However it isnt as bad as you're experiencing.

It appears to have been a defective headset, recieved my replacement one today and the buzzing/whitenoise is gone.
Eventhough its still a downgrade mic quality wise from the G35 i can live with it since the sound quality in the headset itself is far superior.

Yeah same, i have a set of turtle beaches from my xbox 360 days and they legitimately sound better voice wise, but im the same way. The sound is worth it. Good to hear you got it figured out.

Had the same problem, until I opened the Logitech gaming software. There is a setting between mic and bass volume called side noise or something similar. If you drag it to zero, the white noise will stop. It is automatically set on 10 (on a scale 0-100).
