8.4.8. logitech quickcam is installed , which was previously installed to a Windows98 program, to a windows7 program. Problem is camera shows not connected, but camera is connected according to instructions given.

Have you installed drivers for the quickcam?

Depending on the model of cam it is, it may not work with Windows 7. Go to the Logitech website to check if your model is supported.
