Logitech mice USB 3.0 problem

I built my new PC about 2 months ago and had no issues, then last month my Logitech g400s started malfunctioning (timing out for about half a second at a time while gaming, and sometimes seeming to become less responsive the more I played). Since the mouse was 4 years old I assumed it was a cable problem, but having bought a g502 replacement I had the same problem. I troubleshooted the new mouse and I got the following error https://gyazo.com/de7934569bfd774ef50141d74c657ea7 . However, after I changed the mouse to the USB 2.0 port I continued to get the same error. I have updated all the USB drivers (I have these: https://gyazo.com/12359abba4ce3f23758d05361cb85f91 ), and tried every combination of USB settings on my motherboard I could think of, but the problem persists. Can anyone help?

My specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: Radeon RX 580
Motherboard: MSI - B450-A PRO ATX AM4
Case: https://www.cclonline.com/product/234307/FD-CA-FOCUS-BK-W/Cases/Fractal-Design-Focus-G-Computer-Case-with-Window-Side-Panel-Black-/CAS3074/?siteID=8BacdVP0GFs-ZVRUCj59m175rZaR2mYC3w

EDIT: I think what I need to do to fix the problem is make the OS or recognise the USB 2.0 port which does exist as such, because for some reason it seems to think that it is a USB 3.0 port so the drivers for it are wrong. However I really have no idea how to go about doing this.

yeah I have the drivers. I think the problem is that due to my OS or something the USB 2.0 is recognised as a USB 3.0 when it shouldn't be. Another thing I have noticed is that when I launch windows with the mouse in the USB 2 port I get the "you just plugged a USB in" noise as soon as I log in, so I think the OS may have something to do with the problem rather than the hardware.

This isn't the problem at all but I think this is evidence of the cause of the problem being the OS rather than the hardware. The problem is still that the mouse disconnects for about a half-second at a time while gaming. The mouse is plugged into the USB 2 port but it doesn't says that it is plugged into a USB 3.0 port.
