Logitech Z200 paired with Sound Blaster Audigy Fx produces distorted sound when above 50% volume

When i raise the volume in the speakers it makes sound distorted. Is it supposed to be (the speakers are not powerful enough to make such sound with this soundcard) or is something broken? How could i fix it ?

Test the speakers with a different input device such as an MP3 player and see if distortion occurs at the same level.

If so, it's the SPEAKERS that are defective.

If not, it's the sound card, or other hardware issue on the PC. You can also test with the onboard audio instead of the sound card.

You do need the computer OUTPUT VOLUME to be high enough as well or trying to amplify the signal is too hard. I would set it to about 50% by default at the PC with the knob near the LOWEST then raise it up until it's proper volume (or distorted).
