Hello,

I have the Logitech Z5500 speaker set and the control pod is not playing nice anymore (or at least I think the problem is with the control pod).

It somehow muted itself and displays "Mute On" and I don't know how to turn mute off. I tried using the remote control, but that didn't work. Can anybody please help and tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? Logitech support did not help. I'd greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer. Thanks in advance!

This has just happened to me too.
I had the same problem about a year ago & managed to solve it so I'm trying the same thing this time.

Unplug the system.
Leave it unplugged for a while (24-48 hours).
Plug it back in.

Seems unlikely I know but it worked for me last time, although more by accident than design. I'd asked a friend to see if he could take the control pod apart & possibly alter the wiring to turn mute off. He couldn't get around to it for a few days & when he plugged it in to some speakers he found it was working.
Worth a try.

I also had contacted Logitech & although my system was well out of warranty they would have sent me, free of charge, a replacement pod. Unfortunately for me not all pods work with all z5500 systems (need to have matching PID -mine is R525 ) & they did not have one. Might be worth you contacting them.

Also, you can buy (from USA) a control pod bypass switch & that was going to be my fallback because it was a lot cheaper than buying a new comparable speaker system. Can't remember where I found that but if plan A doesn't work for me I'll try to find it again.

Hi

A this stage I got pink noise from my speakers so I knew the system was working but I couldn't hear anything when playing music.
I then went to my sound card settings ( I have Soundblaster z) & clicked on the various tabs to see if anything was obvious.
When I clicked on the cinematic tab it was showing "No encoder" as the setting.
Other settings were available - I clicked on "DTS" & got music from my speakers.
Hope this helps & you can get your system working again
Regards
Mike
