Logon Process Initialization Failure

Hello,
I have a Toshiba Laptop which generate this message 'Logon Process Initialization Failure' Interactive logon process initialization has failed please consult the event log for more details' after I ran a AVAST Boot Virus scan. However I could not reached the logon sreen to continue on to get to my destop. I am stuck. Can someone out help bail me out please.
