Once upon a time, I was a newbie to the Internet. This was years ago
in the fabled time of 1998. Around this same time I had gotten a
wonderful little game that I enjoyed very much, called simply
'Creatures'. I posted now and again to this newsgroup, mostly annoying
people with my youthful stupidity but also making good friends. A few
of the names of those that posted frequently still stick clearly in my
mind: Lis Morris, Alyssa, Das, Ping, Slink, AntiNorn, Emy... the list
goes on. I held on to the series, becoming an Early Adopter for
Creatures 2 and waiting eagerly for Creatures 3. Then, my Creatures 3
disc somehow got a huge scratch and was unable to be used. I fell out
of touch with the games and with the community, and went on with my
newfound life as a hopeless anime addict.

Then, a couple of days ago I was overcome with this desire to play the
first game again. Considering the age of the game, it loaded within
seconds on my current computer, and before I knew it I heard that
familiar ticking clock and crackling fire of the Incubator room.

Nothing is quite as sweet as re-addiction to an old beloved past-time.

<g> Oh yes, the good old times. I really hate having missed that... hung
out at the CDN groups for too long before discovering AGC...

Anyway, WB to InSaNiTy!!11!!!1!!!
You probably know the drill. Watch the carpet and the sofa, though.

Frankly , during the old days I was a brat. Looking back at my old
posts, I really want to give my younger self a good slapping for some
of the things I said to others. :/ You can't undo the past though, and
I can't apologize to people that are long gone... meh! Live and learn.
Thanks for the welcome!

Question... Did you keep the receipt? If so, couldn't you exchange your
disk for a functional version?

Welcome back. Less activity here than there once was, back in its heyday...
but pretty much the only way to counter that is to not relurk. *nod nod*

Incidently... in case you've picked up any excess Sanity 'out there', bins
are provided. *grins*

Oh, golly. That was so long ago, and I'm fairly sure it was a
Christmas present from someone. Besides, I'm sure it was my own
clumsiness that got the disc scratched, so I wouldn't go trying to get
a new copy. :)

Thank you. :) Dunno if I'll be posting much, but I'll certainly keep
an eye on the place!

Ahh. *nods* Understandable.

Bah! Whether paid for or gained through other means, working copy is good

Heh, I know the feeling, I think my consistent taunting of Leonard was
significantly responsible for Mae Tang deciding to leave the group. I
regretted that almost immediately... but he was just so easy to make fun
of. ;P ::shrugs:: That must have been 5 years ago, so I was pretty much
just acting my age.

[bleh, I know this is an old post, but I'm procrastinating over several
essays at the moment]

If it's any consolation, Mae is alive and well and journalling on
LJ... and also has a nation on NationStates.

There are ways to run C3 without the CD... but I doubt you've still got it
installed :/ Ohwell. I myself am looking for a copy of my C3 CD so I can
install it on linux :)
