Hello, please I need advice here as I have spent a lot without result. I just moved to my new home close to the lagoon and most of the network service providers barely cover my area. My 4G LTE router is not picking any signal and my mobile signal is also very weak. I have tried all sort of signal booster and repeater but no success. Is there a longer range Antenna that can pick network to my LTE router and also boost my mobile network. I usually have unlimited plan on my LTE router but now the mobile data scription is killing me as 20gig is not even enough for family consumption. Ideas are welcomed pls.

Does your LTE router even have a external antenna connection...be sure it is for the mobile broadband and not the wifi.

It would be nice if you could get outdoor mast mounted radios. This equipment is generically called a outdoor CPE. The problem is even though companies like Huawei and a few other companies make these the ISP will not allow you to activate them. Not exactly sure why since you can get radios that would technically work. There must be a reason none of the ISP even sell rebranded versions of these devices to end consumers, they sell them as part of a packaged installed deal to business.

So you are limited to hacks in most cases. You can get directional mobile broadband antenna. The problem is you need...

So you are limited to hacks in most cases. You can get directional mobile broadband antenna. The problem is you need these mounted fairly high out side your house and that means you buy expensive antenna cable to hook them to your router with little loss. The other is to find a way to build your own outdoor device by placing the router in a waterproof box connected directly to the antenna.

This was the way we did wifi before cheap outdoor bridges were available.

Technically the use of external antenna on cell equipment is a violation of the carriers license agreement with the government. This is why many of the wifi hotspots and routers do not even have external antenna connections....although many you can get to internal connections.

Your first step if you plan to proceed is to find the antenna connection on your router if it exists. It not you give up or get a different router. After that search from mobile broadband antenna. The ones that match the widest range of frequencies are called logarithmic antenna. For most LTE you need 2 mounted at 90 degrees so they can run mimo,

Be aware there are signal amplifiers for cell phones. Most these only work well for the voice call part. From what I have read the ones you can afford have issues doing the data part. These too are in the grey area of being legal. There is all kinds of expensive equipment you can buy if you are a actual cellphone carrier.
