Longest range usb wifi adapter

Need a long range usb adapter for a laptop computer I use outside in garage---wifi is in my house and need to pick it up outside about 100ft or so from wifi modem---time warner type

If this garage shares a breaker box, then I would recommend trying powerline network adapters with a WIFI Access point (create a second WIFI source). That will probably be more reliable than the USB adapter.

never heard of them--yes it has a breaker box in it that power runs from the house main box

does it really mater on which one I go with-----not playing no games on it---just need connection to pull up diagrams and searching also maybe downloading some

The great thing about powerline is you can move it around. Need better WIFI in the bedroom? front porch? Second floor? Move the WIFI source to where it is needed. You can also connect wired devices to powerline and skip the WIFI completely.

Is the Netgear the only choice? NOPE. Just an example of the types of devices available.

ok there's a lot to choose from ---200 up to 1000 like the one u showed me or bigger----I like to go as cheap as possible for a good one but doubt I need the top of the line ---anyone have any thoughts on which ones I should consider to buy
