Longgggggggg delay when "choosing another app" to open a file

I frequently used the "Open With" option on the right-click menu when opening files on my old Windows 7 box since I sometimes use in excess of 5 different programs regularly with a single file type (especially videos). When I use this option on my new Windows 10 box, it takes an extremely long time (with one attempt last night, the program didn't open for half an hour) for the file to open if I'm using a program that W10 thinks is new to the file type. Once the OS "remembers" the program and saves it to the Open With menu, no delay.

Has anyone seen this bug before? Any ideas what might be causing it?

Corrected 10 december: update moves the delay problem elsewhere.
Now a right click on a file lock Windows Explorer for a while. Once the menu appears it is normally reactive, whatever the option choose.

Very annoying....

I had the same problem. Open With and any call to the internal ShellExecute command is not responsive.
After update to build 1511 this is better. The open with click seems to be more reactive.
But the double click is still very slow.

Note: my computer is recent and it has 16Go of memory with 8 core pentium, so this is not due to an old machine
