Look if this Asus motherboard support E8400

The mother is the Asus IPIBL-LB

Looking at the hp website, it says it support E8xxx which should include the E8400 but I want to be absolutely certain it will support it.

Unless you find somebody with identical setup you can't be "absolutely certain it will support it". You also may need to update BIOS.
