Does vga input will work? The situation where a laptop has hdmi output only. Vga output is not but the motherboard of that laptop has a hole that prepare for vga pin. If i want to solder the vga female connector to the motherboard, i need to cut the laptop case for vga output. If that so, will vga work as output video or not. Laptop model is hp 15-af005ax.

Solution
Pros to using an Active HDMI to VGA adapter - It will work.

Cons to hacking up your laptop, it probably won't work, and you could possibly damage your laptop.

It's a pretty simple choice, just use the adapter.
VGA is a bad display interface any more. The digital data in the computer has to be converted to analog (1st quality loss) then for an LCD monitor back to digital (2nd quality loss). Throw away the monitor rather than butcher your laptop.

I know how the quality will be, it would be terrible but some place where i want to present my slide using lcd projector, there a vga connector only. I need to bring my converter. Some place they still use the old projector. To give suggestion by change a new projector would be impossible.
