Specs:
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
CPU: AMD FX 4300 3.8Ghz Quad Core
GPU: MSI GeForge GTX 960
Mobo: MSI 760GM P23
RAM: 8GB 1 stick - Kingston
HDD: 1TB WD Blue
PSU: ATX, 500 W
So, my GPU has died and I'm looking at upgrading to a GTX 1060 but I am unsure of two things:
1. Is it likely I will need to upgrade my CPU? I feel as though my CPU will severely bottleneck the performance of my GPU in certain games. If upgrading what would you recommend based on the specs provided?
If I need to upgrade my CPU I was looking at an i5 2500k but I dont want to spend more than £150 on a CPU... Is that too low?
2. Are these parts compatible together and with my motherboard? Will I need to buy a new motherboard as well?
I want to know the total costs before looking at purchasing anything, so any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
