I currently have a MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB which I am looking to upgrade, I want to upgrade as my fps isn't what I would like it to be and I feel that my gpu is the part that is lacking.

I currently have a monitor with freesync built in so amd seems the way to go, I have been looking at the rx 480 and the 8gb sapphire version seems about right for me but I don't know what kind of performance gain I would get over what I have now?

I am open to other suggestions though, my price limit would be about £400.

Thanks for any suggestions.

This should give you a general idea of the framerate improvements. You're looking at ~10-20FPS increase.

For £280 on Newegg, however, you can get a Fury X which will give you ~30-40FPS increase. This will be quite noticeable.

Since you have a Freesync monitor, I'd recommend sticking with AMD, and this is the best card they make.

Edit: The Fury X does draw 275 watts stock, though, so make sure you have an adequate power supply.

What games, and what is the framerate now, and what would you 'like it to be'? The point being that depending on game and current framerate, you may not gain much if anything with an upgrade or you might gain a hell of a lot.
