Looking to assemble a computer for a friend that wants a "VERY fast computer with lots of memory for music and browsing online"... lol which is pretty basic stuff. Anyone have any cheap builds?

As mentioned, it is a PC for workstation uses, and that list is outdated.
Even if it was by a day I would consider it outdated, as prices change all the time, and are unpredictable as to what value you're going to get on a product at a certain time, there is almost always a better alternative.

+ $100 for a Windows license unless he is OK with running Linux. Which for music and web browsing should be just fine actually.

If you need Windows but stuck at the budget, you can drop the RAM to 8 GB and not get the standard drive, a 256 SSD is plenty for most people.

Yeah, my only concern is that over time Windows builds up quite a bit of file size, and 120GB isn't much to work with if you're downloading movies etc. (Legally! :p) or storing tonnes of music, as I do. ;)
Enjoy OP, let me know via PM if you have any issues or questions and i'll get back to you when I can, or create a new thread.
