looking for 4GB RAM

i am planning to buy a 4GB DDR3 RAM for my laptop .
so i wanna know is there any kinda specification or any important things to remember while purchasing like speed (Hz) ,clocktime,brand etc etc
so please help me

yes, read the spec on the laptop to see what kind it uses.

If it's a laptop it more likely than not needs to be SO-DIMM ram, as opposed to desktop memory which is DIMM.

I agree with @rgd1101. Read the laptop specs first. Also if you could let us know your model number that will help us answer you query?
