im stuck between choosing 8400/1080, 8600k/1070 ti, 2600/1080 for gaming and some streaming. Trying to find a sweet spot for $1000 or less to have a beast pc for 1080p gaming at 144hz. Depending on the new gpu prices i might get a gtx 1170. I do like to watch streams while i play games. I can do that now but the quality has to be at 480p/360p which is not an enjoyable experience. For ssd i will only have windows on it and that's it.
Hopefully, someone can help me get a beast pc for $1000

Solution
PCpartpicker is down where I am located, but I would go with the 2600x, b450 motherboard, 16gb (3200mhz) RAM, GTX 1080, Crucial MX500 SSD, and a quality PSU from Corsair, EVGA, or Seasonic.

The 2600x gets 5% fewer fps than the 8400 and 7% fewer fps than the 8600k.

Yet the 2600x comes with twice the number of threads which will really help with streaming and multitasking.

Then just get the best GPU you can afford and you cant go wrong.

pcpartpicker is back up, I would go with this.

Intel CPUs are great. There is nothing wrong going with their chips. The Ryzen CPUs just offer a whole lot of CPU for the price. They don't overclock as well as Intel, that is true. So it really depends on what you are looking for.

Just want a cpu to last me the next 5 years maybe without being slow. I know the 8600k is the best cpu for gaming as of now and can oc to 5ghz but the 2600x is cheaper and the mobo will be good for another 2 years
