Looking for a 2000-2500 dollar editing and gaming rig

I'll be playing and recording games such as Battlefield, Left 4 Dead, Arma 2 and 3, etc.
As well as some general usage

Peripherals: New mic but thats all
Monitor: One 24 inch should be fine, preferably 144 hz
Color Theme: None
Overclocking: Yes
GPU: Prefer if it could be an dual SLI (Or cards like the 690 and 295x2
OS: Yes
Preferred brands: Asus, MSI, EVGA, NVIDIA, Corsair, XFX, Cooler Master, Noctua, Radeon, AMD, Intel

For serious editing, try a X79/LGA 2011 pc with a 6 core cpu (i7 4930k) and 16+GB fast ram and have a good video card for hardware acceleration.
You will also need a big or multiple hdds.

I would only go X79 if you really need the extra cores and the 64GB max RAM capacity. For most purposes you only need 16GB. 32GB if you're working with huge files. If you're just editing videos for Youtube consumption, you don't need a ton of processing power.

You don't even need a 4770K for that purpose then, you can get by with a 4670K. Then invest the difference in upgrading to a 780 SLI setup.

That is a good point but for most uses you don't really need an i7, it's not worth the extra hundred bucks if you ask me. I would put the money into the GPU / monitor setup. For that kind of budget you could get a 780TI setup and at least one, maybe a couple of 1440P monitors for a little over $2500.
