Looking for a 24" Gaming/movie monitor

Hey so I am currently looking to spend 250-350 for a good 24" monitor for gaming and movies. I also am still debating between 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. I am leaning more toward 1080 because for movies their won;t be black bars. But you can still persuade me if you wish. Also I plan on buying the monitor online from NCIX.com or newegg.ca

Even if you buy a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor you can still get black bars depending on the movie you are watching. Batman The Dark Knight was filmed in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. That would translate to 1920 x 817 resolution.

I recommend the Dell U2311h which is currently on sale for $249 CAD.

nother question for you if you dont mind I noticed the monitor you recommended to me is good but is there a 24" version of it?

Also has anyone discovered any ghosting/halos on this monitor in fps games? Isn't the monitor also more for professional use than gaming/media?

There's the HP ZR24W which uses the e-IPS panel and is 1920 x 1200 resolution.

I wouldn't consider U2311h more for professional use. The good colors and wide viewing angles makes it ideal for watching movies. While not ideal for gaming, it is still a good monitor for gaming.

That hp monitor you recommended me is out of my price range by 100 also the u2311h is not on sale anymore:S any other suggestions?

The U2311h is currently selling for $339 CAD which is still within your budget.
