Looking for a 750 dollar budget build

Solution
IF you can make the i5-6500 work in your budget, then go for it - it is an improvement over the i3, as a few titles can't take advantage of HT.

If not, the i3-6100 is a solid alternative - provided games you intend to play can utilize the HT aspect, then for all intents & purposes, it's a quad core.

Which case? The Xion? Absolutely.

Some comments:

1. The i5-6400 is a pretty worthless chip IMO. It's not substantially better than the i3, and falls short of an i5-6500. I still don't understand what it was launched to achieve TBH.

2. You 'cheaped' out on the PSU. The SeaSonic I listed, or a variety of others are better options in the $40-$60 price range.

3. The stock cooler is fine. The T4 isn't bringing much to the table (a little cooler than stock) that'll matter too much on a locked CPU. Although at $10 after rebate, I guess there's not much of a reason to run the stock cooler.

4. You won't need thermal paste. Both the stock cooler & any aftermarket cooling it'll either be pre-applied, or will be included. The difference in 'good' and 'bad' thermal paste is maybe ~2-3'C max.

5. Look for a full-sized 1060. The Zotac you included is a 'mini'. The added cooling solution (and improved power delivery) will allow you to OC it in future for an extra 'boost' for either the same price, or $10 more.

6. An SSD would be nice, if it fits your budget - it is a luxury though, so leave it out if you need to save cash.

With the revisions, you should have no problem running ultra at 1080p.
