Hello all,

Currently, I've got an MSI Gaming X RX 480 working with my Ryzen 7 1700, but I'm not satisfied with the performance I'm getting in more than a few titles. I'm planning on overclocking my Ryzen in the near future(I bring this up because I feel like the stock speed of 3.0GHz is partially to blame for the lack of performance), but I'm looking for an upgrade over the RX 480 either way. The RX 580 came out recently, but I'm not sold on it at all. I prefer AMD products overall, but I think as far as AMD gpu's go, I'm near the end of the line in terms of performance.

I'm not quite willing to spend 450+ for a 1070/1080, so if there a slightly cheaper option, I'd love to know what it is 🙂

I'm not sure what you are asking. you don't want to reach upgrade to a 580, but you don't want to go to a 1070. You pretty much have the highest card if you throw out the previous factors. What performance are you expecting? What are you getting What games and settings are you playing? What monitor are you playing on?

Simply put, I'm wanting to know if there's a decent upgrade from the RX 480(and 580), but for not quite the price of a 1070/1080. Been playing titles such as Dishonored 2(runs like poop even on medium settings, but likely poorly optimized anyway) and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The only titles I've been able to run the way I want them to run so far are Rainbow Six: Siege and Witcher 3, both on max settings. Battlefield 4 and Assassins Creed IV both are spotty on maximum settings as well. On second though, the phantom card I am hopelessly searching for likely does not exist, lol.
