P.S. I'm a new user

To clarify,...you specified CPU, when I suspect this includes the cost of the entire build... :)

Best buy right now....

An R5-1600 based system using a quality B350 based mainboard....16GB of DDR4/3200 MHz RAM, Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB. Find at least a GTX1050Ti, as GTX1060 are expensive right now... THrow in a decent 550-600 watt PSU, and you're set!

Are you building it?

Ryzen 5, yes...; the R5-1600 is the new proverbial 'sensible must have' similar to the 2500k/6600K of yesteryear, a 'must have' 2nd place if a budget does not quite allow a Z270/7700K, which is about $140-$200 more including cooler). (I think I read R5-1600 was now the number 2 seller among processors at Amazon, so folks are scooping them up by the thousands...)

^ oh just way better.

Something like this (some of the 1060 6gb cards are down to a reasonable price again now)
