Will this upgrade be supported by the motherboard and how can you check that the CPU is supported by the BIOS. I am sorry, I am not familiar with these...!!

Thanks & Regards

No problem! Upgrading a laptop can be trickier than a desktop for a multitude of reasons, but you can definitely squeeze a little more power out of yours. Here is the link to a BIOS update for your laptop.

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g410-notebook/downloads/ds040384

Be careful not to turn off your laptop during the update - it will brick your motherboard!

EDIT: After looking around on the internet, all CPUs on that list should be compatible with your laptop.

Hi again,

Those where great solutions earlier. It helped me a lot. A big thanks....!!!

I would like to one more thing as I am having an i3 in my current situation. If I upgrade to an i7, will there be a need to change the cooling fan..?? Or is there anything like that upgradation..??

Thanks
