looking for a G sync monitor 4k or 144hz?

ever since building my first gaming pc i been hooked i been stuck with a 60hz monitor so its complete hell when it comes to screen tearing and v sync just aint doing it for me anymore!
for the past few weeks i been stuck thinking should i get a 144hz monitor or should i go 4k?
i never came to witness the beauty that is 4k neither have i ever owned a 144hz monitor
so im asking you guys is 4k worth it? or is 144hz the way to go? and no i dont do much
competitive gaming so tell me what you all think is worth it! :)

motherboard: asus sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 SATA 6Gb/s

ram memory: corsair dominator platinum 32gb 1600 MHs

SSD: Crucial MX200 500GB

harddrive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 rpm

video card: 2X EVGA GTX980 FTW ACX 2.0 4GB 2 way SLI

CPU proccessor: Intel i7-4930K LGA 2011 3.40GHz 12MB 6 cores/12 threads

power supply: 1300W EVGA supernova G2 80 gold+

cpu cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer i11 74.0 CFM CPU Cooler

IMO, 1440p with GSYNC is the way to go really in your case.

We're not quite there yet technologically to efficiently do 4K, basically when you are just hitting 60FPS with all eye candy with 4K, this means that next year you will have to start dropping quality, just no go for me.

I'd rather have good 1440p with sync and this will both help with tearing which is annoying AND it will allow you to enjoy full eye candy next year as well without having to upgrade.

I am pretty sure you don't burn money, otherwise you'd toss those 1200USD to get a 4K 144Hz GSYNC monitor, so not having to upgrade GPU/sacrifice quality next year would be nice.
