Hey guys,
I was thinking about upgrading my components except the motherboard which is ASUS m5a78l-m lx v2. can somebody suggest the upgrades for
1. PSU (which preferably wont make much power and will be able to run good graphic cards),
2. Ram (how much do i need? 4 or 8 or 16 and of which product)
3. Graphic card (I understand theres not many GTX versions compatible with my motherboard but if you have any good graphic cards in mind from 2 gb - 4gb which will get give good performance for game)
4. Cooling systems and ventilation cabinets(according to the graphic card or Ram requirements)
5. I already have a hard drive of 500 gb will that suffice?

Note: I own a AMD Fx-6100 processor right now. Location: Mumbai, India.
Budget around 300-350 USD(15000-20000 INR) for GPU, PSU, cooling system, RAM.

Any help would suffice. Thanks in advance :)

Solution
1. your motherboard can manage the following listing of cpu's http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/M5A78L-M_LX_V2.html
based on that information the best cpu you can get for it would be a FX 8350. for the price of one of those I would just scrap your idea and get newer hardware for the motherboard as well, since you are changing everything else.

so for the exercise I will answer your question then make my suggestion for a more mother system and compare prices. at this point I will assume your in the USA, if you are not let me know.

this system contains also an SSD which you could remove, but I strongly suggest using one to make your system super quick.
this Ryzen is like 40% faster than your old FX system.
If I was you I would not invest into the FX series, because it will mean no upgrades possible in the future, the system I suggest can be upgraded later to more ram, a Ryzen 1600 if you want even more power meaning that next upgrade will cost you less .

Solution
Why do you absolutely want to keep that inexpensive motherboard? A build based on a newer motherboard could be significantly better and it may not cost much more. I would understand if it was a high-end motherboard with a 990FX chipset, but it's an entry-level motherboard with a 760G chipset. It may officially support the FX-8370, but it will most likely throttle at full load even if you use a Wraith cooler; the VRM is the main limitation.

Why not just get a new system? That board can hold a fx 8370 but the poor vrms cannot hold that for long. It's a cheap low end board. Also you are limiting yourself to quite old tech that was mediocre in performance at launch.

For the same money an upgrade would cost you you can have a better system.

+1 to whats already been said .

The most you can run sensibly on that board is an fx6300 & dont get me wrong , on a tight budget its still a fairly capable cpu for its age.

If you owned the board & you also already owned ddr3 ram I could see some sense in buying one.

You don't though , you own just the board which at retail was $40 or so & second hand is worth $20 tops.

Makes no sense to even use it UNLESS you could get an fx 6300 & 8gb ddr3 swcond hand incredibly cheap.

Ypu need ro let us know your location & budget for us to be of any help to you whatsoever.

Wow, I didn't know about the drawback of FX series.. now on researching I found out about every component you said. The thing is I'm from India and in INR it will cost me more than 10,000 just for the board. I guess what you are saying makes sense. Just a side note: my processor is AMD FX 6100 6 core processor . Is it possible to keep it in my process of upgrading my rig. I will look into the system that you suggested. I'm just trying to cut down costs as much as I can. but yes I guess ill have to upgrade everything. Thanks so much for the detailed info.
@ThePaladin

Yeah, I guess I'll have to change the motherboard .. just trying to cut down costs as much as I can. Thanks for the heads up :)

I own an AMD FX-6100 processor and a 4 gb ram DDR3 ram. The processor I was planning to keep, the motherboard as well but the other components I need to buy and upgrade as I'm trying to cut down the costs as much as I can. I've updated the location and budget. Please check thanks :)

is DDR3 8 gb ram good enough in future if I have to upgrade my other components including motherboard?.. my motherboard only supports 2 and 3 currently.

All the new platforms use ddr4. The ddr3 you buy not is for in the now not for the future.
