looking for a gaming monitor

should i get a 1440p ips monitor or a 144hz 1080p tn.....help!

I would choose the 1440p monitor as games look better, and when not gaming you have a beautiful large high resolution desktop. Mind you though. You did not say what GPU you had. So make sure yours can run it.

i have a GTX 770

You can run older games fine and with high settings. Todays games. I would say yes at 1440p. Not at max settings though. Max settings might run you between 25-45 FPS. Depending on what settings you have turned on. Such things like AA ect.
