The cheapest G-sync 1440p starts at $450. You would be better served getting a Freesync 2 monitor and using it with your nVidia card.

I've found them as low as $350. But do you think I should get a Freesync 2 monitor for HDR?

Acer XG270HU, is TN but very good monitor.

If you can find one for $350 that isn't bad at all for G-sync. When I looked on pcpartpicker the cheapest 1440p VA/IPS were $450 but the TN displays were $250+. If you were to get a Freesync 2 panel they start around $400 and are in theory usable with any GPU.
