I have a $1,000 budget and I'm looking for a good future proof graphics card.

My original thought was the Gtx 780 ti classified at about $700 but I was wondering since I had $1,000 to spend is there anything better for about $300 more?

Also Sli is not an option for me since I have 4 pci slots and 1 is taken by something else.

Also, I wouldn't have to upgrade my motherboard if I got a nice card would I?

Solution
For single 1080p display, the Titan Black sometimes underperforms than the 780ti. Id go with a 780ti as you won't be needing 6GB for your setup nor in the foreseeable future

The GTX Titan Black is the only graphics card for 1000$, the step down is the GTX 780TI for around 700$ and a step up would be a r9 295x2 for 1500$.

What specs are your monitor?

As long as you have PCI-e 3 slot, you will be fine.

I run dual monitor largest of which is 1920x1080 and I don't plan to go bigger.

titan black seemed to be the same thing as 780 ti but with 3gb more memory, does that make a big difference?

Also I was just asking in general about the motherboard, I'm not great with hardware I was just curious if that was needed, like you need to upgrade PSU sometimes because graphics card needs mroe power, would you ever have to upgrade motherboard if graphics card was to new or something?

How would we know if you need to upgrade your motherboard if you haven't told us what you have? Answer, is probably not either way.

What we would need to know:

CPU:
Power Supply:
Motherboard:

There is a GTX Titan but I think I'd still rather have a GTX 780Ti.

Not on a single 1080 Display, No. Not on a dual display config either... to be honest.

Thanks I will probably go with that, I never really understood what the graphics card memory was for, but if I won't need more then 3gb for my setup then I guess that's fine. =)
