Looking for a good laptop under $1,000

Hey guys, I'm back again. I need a laptop for trade school courses and one that I can also use for CNC machining. My budget is $1,000. I'd like to have a good quality laptop that will last me as long as possible and provide for me great graphics, fast speeds, and something that is at least somewhat customizeable. It also needs to have a hefty amount of memory available as I'll be driving it daily.

To clarify, I'll be using autocad and other similar programs on it and I want everything to run smoothly. I know it may seem simple to find something on my own but I don't trust myself too much when it comes to Laptops. Lol, that said, anyone good for an answer?

Thanks, bro. Am gonna go with the i7 you mentioned here. I don't have a microcenter anywhere near by and since I don't expect to run thru 8gb anytime soon, am gonna go with the smaller version you mentioned. Appreciate the answer, guys!
