Looking for a graphic card

Hey everyone, I am interested in buying a new GPU for my build as my older GTX 650 died just a few days ago. My config is :-
AMD FX 6100
cooler master thunder 500w
MSI 970 gaming motherboard
I was looking somewhere between RX 460 to GTX 1060 but i am also getting confused with the NVIDIA 900 series in between. I can spend about 280$ on the GPU. AMD RX series is great but the problem is I don't have a very good experience with those GPU's. Please suggest a suitable GPU for my build.

I highly recommend rx 470 great card that can reach rx 480 easily and light on the pocket.
Anything higher than that and i am afraid your cpu will hold you back.

Get the best graphics card you can afford, a GTX 1060. All the best in technology. Then you can update the CPU later.

You could go the cheap route and get a GTX 950. Given your relatively modest older CPU it makes sense, plus it's massively faster than your old GTX 650. It's also as fast as the RX 460. Newegg has an ASUS for $89.99 after rebate.
