Hello my pc is:
MOBO:GA-78LMT-USB3
CPU:AMD-FX6350 3.9ghz (OC to 4.5)
PSU:430CXW 80+
GPU:GTX 650 Ti boost (2GB)
OS:Windows 8.1

I am looking for a new graphics card (a better one) I have £205 to spend on graphics card and am selling my old one for another £55 which I could use on a new PSU if need be, anyway could someone suggest a good graphics card to buy that will run most games on high/ultra at 60+fps (only if possible) thank you. -James

Solution

You can go either way, elemential has a good idea if you want to sell your other parts and if you get good prices for them.
If not, you can just buy these two:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card (£203.99 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: XFX TS 650W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply (£59.33 @ More Computers)
Total: £263.32
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

And keep your old parts. Or...

That's a little low for either the GTX 970 oand way too low for the R9 290. Your old GPU is much less powerful than these two. Go with the R9 290 and a new PSU like the XFX 650w.

He has a 430W PSU. He can't handle a R9 290
Getting a 970 with the fx-6350 = bottleneck
I'd sell the CPU and PSU

CPU: 50GBP
PSU: 30GBP
GPU: 55GBP
Total: 80GBP + 205GBP + 55= 340gbp to spend

Here is what you can get
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor (£129.99 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card (£149.99 @ Ebuyer)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£49.98 @ Novatech)
Total: £329.96
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

How good would this build be for say Gta v and new games?

How good would this be with my cpu for new games? Also would this work with my MOBO?

An overclocked 6350 paired with an R9 280x or 290 will power through most games. You may struggle a little in CPU bound games like BF4 and Arma3. Games like tomb raider will run like a dream. But you will see greater gaming performance by spending more on the GPU than replacing the CPU at this price point.

Really good. Especially if your using a 1080p monitor. You'll handle some nice framerate at high settings

So if I went your way I get a better power supply and buy the r9 290? Or r9 289x? Please could you provide links, thank you.

And keep your old parts. Or sell them and buy beer (that's what I would do).

So would the 650w power supply be good enough for both my cpu and the r9 290?

Ok thank you very much.
