Hello I just purchased a i5-6600k and I guess it doesn't come with a heat sink. I am looking for suggestions on a heat sink that would.

1. Use a different mount than the stock intel coolers do with the plastic push pins. I keep breaking these and I don't feel they are very secure.

2. Not obnoxiously large. I don't need to OC so I don't want the cooler to be bigger than necessary.

3. High quality I don't like buying cheap stuff that breaks only to end up having to buy another one. Any time I have gone cheap on something I have ended up regretting it later and buying the more expensive one later.

Thanks for your help :)

PS i know i got a k cpu that I dont OC and I know it's not hard to install a HSF.

Solution
Best Budget heatsink on the market , easier to mount , smaller and performs better than the 212 series.

Your case will be a big determining factor to which cooler you can get.
For a smallish CPU clearance, the Cryorig M9i is a good cooler. It's only 125mm tall so most cases will likely fit it.

The Cryorig H7 is a step up from that at 145mm, and can handle some light OCing if you decided to give it a whirl.

And the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is one of the standards, standing in at 159mm.

The Cryorig options would be my recommendation. The height alone makes for easy install, but also they don't overlap any RAM slots like the Cooler Master does. Price wise, the M9i comes in lower than the Evo, and the H7 a bit higher, but cools better than the other two. However the Evo can be had from just about any online store and most brick and mortar stores like Frys will likely have it in stock. The Cryorig line can be a bit harder to find depending on your area.

Wow thanks for taking the time to embed images and videos and thanks everyone for the info as this saves me a lot of time and trial and error. I would like to pick more than one best answer, but I can't so I will go in order of the posts, but I appreciate the help from everyone. I don't think space is an issue I just had bigger ones that tend to smother everything around it and I didn't like it. I have an antec three hundred two http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F81NH2708&cm_re=antec_case-_-11-129-180-_-Product and an asus z170e ..
I think this is what I really miss these were so much easier.

I still need to figure out which one I will get the large cryorig or the small the large one looks like it may be a little bigger than I need.

Yeah the tower designs look like they can get kind of intimidating and overkill. That said, they're so much quieter and better coolers than the small stock heatsinks of yesterday that unless budget is a serious concern its really hard to not recommend them. The H7 is super simple to put on once you've watched the videos and you have plenty of room for it in that case.

Thank you I just ended up getting the smaller one since in the video it looks like you can remove it from the top of the motherboard and the bigger one looks like you have to remove it from the back. I really didn't want a big one either so I think it should work out fine. My house always has AC running anyways so I don't think heat will be much of an issue.
