GDDR5 is better, but neither of those are viable picks for gaming unless you mean very moderate and with older titles. Keep in mind, the laptop will not be up-gradable, if you buy a low end system now, it will be a really low end system in a few years, and you are stuck with it unless you sell it and replace it. Buy something better now, it will save you money and frustration in a year.
