looking for a laptop for windows xp home edition

My Window XP Home Edition Presario 900Z Compaq has slowed down.
I need either another computer or parts so I can create Embroidery designs with the
Designer Series for Windows 95/98 program.

The serial number on the Compaq is: 1N2CKSBZ5V09
BATTERY SERIES: PPB003B
COMPAQ Part number: 280206-001
replace only with Compaq spares: 281766-001

I hope you can send me some Good News on my embroidery needs

Check craigslist or ebay, plenty of older XP systems out there.

Buying a new computer because yours "slowed down" may not be the right move, did you check why it was slow? Maybe a virus, or your hard drive is just going bad. Although it's pretty cheap to buy an older XP system, you'll have to re-install everything and backup your settings.

When is the last time that you ran Defrag and a surface scan on the disk? When things slow down -but do not crash- it's a sign to run diagnostics. I've been paying $4 for 40GByte disks, cheaper and easier than replacing a computer.
