Looking for a lower cost laptop

Want to purchase a new laptop. I am interested in the hp chromebook 14. I am really not tech savy. It says does not include cd/dvd drive. Do i really need that?

No. The chromebook is a good idea for a small budget, it is designed for web browsing mainly and has Chrome OS instead of Windows. You will not be able to use windows applications, though there are many alternatives.

in general the average joe doesnt benefit from cd/dvd drives. This is why many laptops nowadays arent coming with them as much as they used to.
