looking for a more unique router. Sugestions?

i am curently planning on getting my own computer for my room which has ethernet cable looking conection thing in it but me and my father both believe it is a Modem connection. Because i do not want to re-run cables from my main router which is in my basement i was playing to just connect a router for my computer to that connection. What i need however preferable a router with no wifi but allows for high speed ethernet connections so I can potentialy run a small server. Any Sugestions?

Without wifi, you're going have to use cable. Maybe try Powerline access points - http://www.newegg.com/Powerline-Networking/BrandSubCat/ID-1233-294
