Gday,
im looking for a motherboard for my altcoin mining rig, i have 4 gpus so i need 4 PCI-E slots and i found this one - ASRock B150M PRO4, anyway, the problem is that two of these are x16 and the other two are x1, im kinda sceptic about that since i need to get the maximum performance out of my gpus and i dont know if the x1 slots are the right thing for me, the socket is fine since im using an intel celeron g3900, BUT the ram im using is DDR3 so its not compatible with this motherboard.

Solution
This board would be better for 3 graphics cards. It supports PCIE 8x/8x/4x operation.

I scrapped the idea of running 4 gpus and went with 3 instead, im using HD7950s, this board (ASRock Z170 Pro4/D3) suits my needs, it has a 1151 socket, ddr3, 5 PCI-E slots (two x16 and three x1, my question is, how much slower are gpus running in the x1 slots compared to the ones running in the x16 slots?

i wont use any of these sli nor crossfire, in mining you dont really need the coordination
