Question Looking for a Multi-GPu motherboard that can handle large GPUs

I am a total noob to this topic so sorry if this is a dumb question....

Supposing I want to build a deep learning rig with either 4 or 8 30-series GPUs, even 8 RTX 3090s (this is for a small sized university datacenter type setting so forget about the price lmao)
what motherboards/keywords should I be looking into to find such a board if it exists?

Is the use leveraging the tensor cores? If so, it may make more sense to be looking at the Nvidia V100s.

Are the V100s thinner or use less power? What advantages do they have, other than large VRAM than say a comparable amount of 3080s or 3090s ? Thanks for your insights!

Simply put, more dedicated resources to linear algebra, in the form of tensor cores.

It really depends on what you're doing.
