[SOLVED] Looking for a new gamin laptop

Hi all,

I need advice, I can't decide if I should go with a laptop that runs with a Nvidia RTX2080 Max-Q or one that runs with a Nvidia RTX2070 (desktop GPU)?

How big of a performance difference is it?

The one with RTX2080 Max-Q is much more portable and slimmer which would be nice but not a must and I would definitely not want to sacrifice too much performance for portability.

Also, I do not have the option of buying a desktop.

I appreciate all the advice I can get.

There pretty close in performance so I'd doubt you'd notice a difference.

For a gaming laptop I'd probably get something a bit larger as it may have better cooling. I recently bought a MSI Thin with a 9300H/8gb/GTX 1650 Max Q and it runs quite warm, around 90C (CPU/GPU) on Division 2 (mix of Med/Low settings) and that's with vsync enabled at 60hz.

It's nice but I actually like the Alienware better for the desktop CPU which should outperform that 9980HK.

With those gaming laptops, thermals will be your nemesis.
Even models that get good reviews - only for people to find those same models getting toasty 3 months later for some reason...
