Looking for a new pair of Headsets/Headphones under 250$

Hi, i've recently been looking for a new pair of Headphones/Headsets for my upcoming rig, they're going to replace my HyperX Cloud 2's. I've been looking at the Beyerdynamic DT990's, Sennheiser HD 579's and Audio Technica AD500X's. If you have experience with these (or other ones) please tell me your opinion about them.
I'm mostly going to be using them for gaming and casual listening to music on Spotify and Soundcloud. Also, do i need a soundcard/dac and amp? Thanks

Awesome that you're upgrading.
Personally I've used the DT990's before, and I gotta say that I don't quite like them. This is basically a 50/50 whether you like them or not. Their highs can be somewhat harsh on the ears, hence why I don't really like them.
If you're able to squeeze a little more money into, get a pair of either Sennheiser HD600 or HD650. I have the HD650 currently and I love them. They're a bit more "fun" than the HD600, but not like a pair DT770's. The HD600 is a flat headphone, where you really get to hear what the content creator tried to make. The HD650 will put some colours on that and enhance for example the bass and pitch a little.

You'll most likely need an AMP for those headphones. I usually start to use AMP when the headphones reach an impedance of around 60-65 ohm. Something like the Fiio e10k is a nice little AMP/DAC combo to start out with. It will gladly drive 300+ ohm headphones.

I might be able to get the HD600, but would you recommend the HD579 or possibly the HD599? Where i live that prices are very high on headphones and computer components generally. The headphone section is also very limited, so they don't sell the HD6xx series. I can recommend the HD598's although not totally sure about the HD558's since I haven't tried those. If you choose to go for the HD598 a DAC won't be needed, although you'd most likely get a cleaner sound with one. I'd say you should probably go for one, but it's not needed to run those headphones.

Ah, ok. I think i'll go for the HD599's as the HD598 isn't available.
I'll also just pick up cheap ish Soundcard or DAC/AMP.
