Hi, I'm just looking for a new PSU. I have a Chieftec iARENA GPA-500S8 500W, I had no issues with it, but I want a better and more reliable and quality PSU. I be honest my budget is tight, but i still looking for a bigger one and maybe one which can handle 3-4 HDD and maybe a GTX 970.
I have a few model on my list, EVGA, Corsair (I know, nothing worth below CS series), Cooler Master, Be Quiet! and Zalman. I know Japanese capacitors and 80 Plus Gold certification is a guarantee for a good PSU, but they're out of my budget. Looking a solid PSU, which is reliable, have various protections. Actually anything which considered better then my current one.

My current rig is:
i5 4460 3,2 GHz
8 GB RAM DDR3 (planning 16 GB in this year)
Geforce GTX 960 (planning a 970 or else, but that's another story)
Crucial SSD
WD Blue HDD Samsung HDD
Genius lighting K+M

Hi again - The Chieftec you have now is probably as good as the 500b or system power 7. I would say
stay with the Chieftec and save some money to upgrade down the road.

Hi - A couple of things; as mentioned by Greeko what's your budget? You are on a tight budget, but we
still need to know how much it is.

Secondly, a good quality 500w PSU is more than sufficient to power a system with one gtx 970 and several
drives, lighting, etc.

Your current PSU could power your new config, but I agree that you should step up in quality. There are no
trusted reviews of the iArena series, but there are several good quality 450w PSU's with more
+12v rail amps (the key power spec) available than your 500w Chieftec.

But, back to the original question, what's your budget?

Well, my budget is low. I live in Europe, Hungary. I say in euros is around 60-80 Euros. Be Quiet! and EVGA have a few model which no state of the art, but have good reviews, still in my budget and I think they are better models. Plus, if my a 500W model serves my well, my budget is lower.
I looked this models: EVGA 500B, Be Quiet! System Power 7 or 8. I know Corsair below CS models are not so good and once I had a Cooler Master PSU which dead.
